Woodstock: Cape Town’s cultural melting pot

East of the City of Cape Town, lies Woodstock. A quite, yet lively suburb made up of an electric mix of people, cultures and history. For an array taste of authentic Cape Town cuisine, music and a unique vibrancy – this old yet modern village lights up Cape Town as a whole.

This video, as part of the Love Cape Town Neighbourhoods series, showcases what the area has to offer. Woodstock is fast becoming a cultural and business place, from its corner bakeries, vintage shops and restaurants. Chef, cookbook writer and caterer Karen Dudley, takes a walk through the heart of the suburb, unearthing it’s little gems that make it a must-see.

Saviour a glass of craft beer at Devil’s Peak Brewery before stopping at Woodstock Vintage to pick up pieces of history – before spending an afternoon walking through the Woodstock Peace Park, a community urban farm and end the day at The Dining Room for delicious dinner.
