The World’s 50 Best Restaurants Awards will take place in Melbourne, Australia, this year. The event is usually held in London, where it was launched in 2002, but this year it’s going down under, and is only the second time that the award show is being held elsewhere.
The list is compiled through a voting process. Members of an academy of about 1 100 chefs, restaurateurs and food critics submit 10 votes for restaurants they’ve visited in the past 18 months, of which four should be outside their own region.
If you want to sample the delights of these top-notch eateries, chances are you’ll be on a waiting list for months. But according to Conde Nast Traveler, the restaurants that fall between the 51 and 100 range are ones you’re more likely to get a table at.
Here are the restaurants that made the last 10 spots on the list:
- Manresa, Los Gatos, US
- St John, London, UK
- Twins, Moscow, Russia
- Le Chateaubriand, Paris, France
- Kadeau, Copenhagen, Denmark
- Quay, Sydney, Australia
- Epicure, Paris, France
- Sushi Saito, Tokyo, Japan
- Hedone, London, UK
- Florilege, Tokyo, Japan
- Olympe, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
