It was recently announced that former president Thabo Mbeki will be the VIP guest speaker at the next Homecoming Revolution Speed Meet Jozi event.

Speed Meet Jozi, will take place on 14 August at the Hilton Sandton, and is the brainchild of Homecoming Revolution, the brain-gain company for Africa – headed up by Angel Jones. The event  provides the perfect opportunity for attendees to expand their pan-African network contacts. Delegates from South Africa will mingle with their counterparts from Nigeria, Kenya and other sub-Saharan African countries. This event has the full backing of Brand South Africa and is the perfect platform for a spot of intra-African networking. Pan-African companies will be at the event in full force, including business leaders from Barloworld, Pam Golding Properties, Accenture, KPMG, Deloitte and BAT, among others.

Angel Jones is thrilled that Mr Mbeki will be addressing the audience. She says, “Homecoming Revolution shares Mr Mbeki’s vision of an African Renaissance and aims to fulfil that goal by connecting influential Africans across many different borders.”

Another highlight of the event will be the unveiling of the Homecoming Insights 2015 report, which will give attendees a wealth of insights into African immigration and repatriation.

“Our survey has yielded some invaluable insights on both Africans in the diaspora and returnees. The results offer fantastic snippets into the thoughts of both these groups and has provided us with an accurate snapshot of how strong the pull of home remains for so many Africans abroad,” says Jones.

Other well-known names who will be attending the event include Trevor Ncube (Mail & Guardian newspaper); Moky Makura (Nigerian presenter and writer); Edward Ndopu (Amnesty International) and Yvonne Chaka Chaka (songstress), among others.

Homecoming Revolution continues to believe in the power of networking and creative collaboration across the globe and there is also a Speed Meet New York on 24 and 25 September 2015 and Speed Meet Africa London – taking place in March, 2016.
