HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY A PRIME TARGET FOR CYBER-CRIMINALS

The hospitality industry offers many opportunities for hackers and other cyber-criminals because they hold a host of personal and financial information on their guests, as well as other sensitive data, such as payment card information. Hospitality is the industry with the second-highest number of cyber security breaches after the retail sector. Most of the industry’s prominent hotels have fallen victim to cyber-breaches.

These are some of the key highlights on cybersecurity and data privacy risks in the hotel sector, according to PwC’s Hotels Outlook report, 2018-2022.
