SAA cancels flights between JHB & HK due to bad weather

JOHANNESBURG.  22 August 2017. South African Airways (SAA) would like to advise its customers of its decision to cancel flights to and from Johannesburg and Hong Kong International Airport due to bad weather caused by Typhoon Hato.

“We have taken a decision to cancel our flights between the two cities due to unfavourable weather in the form of Typhoon Hato,” said SAA Spokesperson, Tlali Tlali.

The following SAA flights to and from Hong Kong International Airport will be cancelled.

The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) has released its latest report on the cost of living worldwide. The EIU survey measured the cost of living after comparing 400 independent prices of 160 products and services that range from food products, to private schooling.

Singapore, for the 4th consecutive year was ranked as the most expensive city in the world, followed by Hong Kong, China with Zurich, Switzerland in third place. South African city Johannesburg has been ranked as the 116th most expensive city to live in while Pretoria made it on to the list as the 123rd most expensive.

South African Airways introduces Abuja as second gateway in Nigeria


South African Airways‘ (SAA) today launched flights to Abuja as a second gateway in Nigeria.

The inaugural flight with a contingent of senior government officials, and media guests on board, carried a substantial number of passengers proving the popularity of the route. The flight departed on Tuesday, 26 January at 23h55 from Johannesburg (via Lagos) and landed today, 07h30 in Abuja – where the aircraft was greeted with a traditional celebratory and welcoming water salute as it taxied into the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.
