Laduma Ngxokolo, renowned fashion designer and founder of sought-after knitwear brand MaXhosa, continues to transcend boundaries, both locally and beyond our shores. He’s been commissioned by the Museum of Modern Art in New York to provide a piece for its exhibition Is Fashion Modern?
Ngxokolo took to Instagram to announce the news. Other international brands that will feature include Levi’s 501 jeans, Converse All Stars and Nike.
“Got commissioned by @themuseumofmodernart to create a modern example of what I think the future holds for the prominent Aran knit that originated in the late 1800s in Ireland, among 100 fashion pieces,” Ngxokolo wrote.
