Prestigious USA travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler recently announced the winners of its Reader’s Choice Awards for 2015 and SA certainly held its own against some stiff competition.
Top 100 hotels and resorts in the world
While Singita Grumeti in Tanzania topped the list, Bushman’s Kloof Wilderness Reserve & Wellness Retreat took the Number 3 spot. It also took first place in the “Top 12 resorts in South Africa” category. This spacious and luxurious retreat, which is a member of the Red Carnation Hotel Collection, has 16 guest rooms and a fully catered villa called Koro Lodge.
Top 25 Hotels in Africa
In the Number 1 spot is the 209-room Belmond Mount Nelson at the foot of Table Mountain. An institution in Cape Town, locals love popping in for afternoon tea on the terrace or a glass of bubbly at the Planet Bar. KwaZulu-Natal’s super-stylish hotel The Oyster Box came in at Number 2, while exclusive Relais & Chateaux property Ellerman House, which is set on the slopes of Lion’s Head and has spectacular views of the Atlantic ocean, took third place.
Best Cities in the World
