Rough Guides has released the top 20 most beautiful countries in the world as voted by the travel publisher’s readers. Its travel guides cover 120 destinations worldwide and it boasts over 60 000 subscribers.
At the top of the list is Scotland, thanks to its “wild beaches, deep lochs and craggy castles”, which are a few of the highlights that make up the beauty of the UK’s northernmost country.
In second place is Canada, followed by New Zealand, with Italy coming in at fourth place. South Africa made it onto the list as surprisingly, the only country from Africa to make it the list, sitting at a comfortable fifth place. Rough Guides goes on to quote All Africa Travel: “South Africa has to rate as one of the best, with all the variety, from wildlife to beaches.”
