The world’s number-one female tennis player, Serena Williams, who shared the news of her pregnancy to the world in April, is slam-dunking the mother-to-be and vacation glow in beautiful Marina Bay, nestled in majestic Singapore.
Williams has shared her picture-perfect holiday with Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian on Instagram.
Marina Bay has since 1910 undergone great development and is the site of key milestones in the country’s urban transformation efforts, becoming the symbol of 21st century Singapore along the way.
Within it is “a leading financial centre, civic space and community playground for all”, as described by Singapore’s Urban Redevelopment Authority.
Here are five things to do in Marina Bay:
Be mesmerised by the Singapore skyline
See the iconic and colourful Singapore skyline like you never have before from the top of the Sands SkyPark.
Explore the magical Gardens by the Bay
Lush greenery meets the future in this grandly designed park that was named the World Building of the Year at the World Architecture Festival in 2012. Here you’ll find the Supertree Grove, a collection of massive, man-made trees. These light up into a myriad of colours at night – truly a sight to see.
Visit the iconic ArtScience Museum
One look at this iconic structure and you’ll see why it needs little introduction. The 50 000 square feet museum is shaped like a lotus flower and houses 20 galleries showcasing Singapore’s artistic expression and rich history.
Another great way to take in views of this beautiful destination is through one of the world’s largest observation wheels – the Singapore Flyer.
Singapore F1 Grand Prix
Another one that needs little introduction, especially for speed-lovers. It has been a part of the F1 calendar since 2007 and is one of the best races of the year.
