Bringing a dose of indulgence to the cold season, The Palazzo Montecasino’s new Winter High Tea has something for every palate. Featuring an array of delicious sweet and savoury treats, and a freshly brewed tea and coffee selection, this is the ultimate winter wind-down.
The Palazzo is well-known for its luxury high teas, and this winter selection lives up to the hotel’s reputation.
“High Tea at the Palazzo is a special occasion,” says Robert Jasper, General Manager of The Palazzo at Montecasino. “It’s an opportunity for guests to sit back and relax for the afternoon with someone special, and enjoy the extravagance of the High Tea offering. The Palazzo setting, with lush gardens in which to enjoy the highveld winter sunshine, combined with the palatial Tuscan-themed architecture, combine to make this High Tea a truly memorable treat.”
Patrons can enjoy homemade apple pie, chocolate chilli torte, malva pudding with a milk tart topping and raspberry cheesecake among other sweets. Sawubona especially enjoyed the mini lemon & ginger cupcakes and classic chocolate tart.
Those who prefer savouries can enjoy an assortment of sandwiches, such as cured salmon cucumber and crème fraiche, beef pastrami rocket and pickled red onion, and Swiss cheese and tomato chutney. Also included are quiches, and – a classic favourite – fresh scones served with jam, grated cheese and cream. The Palazzo’s scones are certainly another favourite of ours.
The Palazzo Winter High Tea remains at an unchanged cost of R220 per person. It is available daily from 2pm to 5pm until 31 August. Booking is essential, contact +27 (0)11 510 3714 or e-mail Danielle.Peters@tsogosun.com.
