The Mantis Collection and Val de Vie Estate have announced their purchase of the Franschhoek Pearl Valley Golf and Country Estate. The aim is to combine The Pearl Valley and Val de Vie brands, creating a “Super Estate” for those living in and visiting the Cape winelands to enjoy.
Mantis Chairman Adrian Gardiner and Val de Vie Chairman Martin Venter are excited about the merger and are confident that their brands will amalgamate well.
“The mutually beneficial inclusion of Pearl Valley within the larger Val de Vie family and among its other diverse offerings, completes the vision of providing the ultimate in secure, luxury living,” said Venter.
The procurement included the whole first phase of Pearl Valley, the Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, the clubhouse, a 20-hectare equestrian farm and several plots. Also acquired was a hotel site, on which the Mantis Collection Pearl Valley Hotel will be developed.
Mantis, along with partners, Val de Vie, will begin construction of the Mantis Pearl Valley Hotel in early 2016. The first phase of the hotel’s creation will include 40 rooms and a conference centre. The second and third phases will result in a final number of 150 keys on offer.
“There could not be a more exciting phase in the development of this mega estate and our partnership with the world famous Mantis Group adds significant value to the group,” Venter said.
