Nothing says celebration like the sound of a champagne cork popping! So ahead of Moët Party Day – taking place in 80 countries around the globe on 17 June 2017 – we asked Aimee Kellen, Moët Hennessy Champagne Portfolio Manager, about this global celebration and all things champagne.
Q: So Aimee, tell us a little more about Moët Party Day 2017.
On 17 June this year, Moët & Chandon will be hosting the second edition of Moët Party Day, a 24-hour international celebration of all life’s memorable moments, taking place in leading cities around the globe from London to Johannesburg and Paris to Lagos. Last year the inaugural edition of Moët Party Day was held in 45 countries and this year, an incredible 80 countries will join the global champagne celebration on 17 June, from 12pm in New Zealand to the end of the night in Mexico and beyond. There’s no doubt about it, Moët Party Day has become a global champagne movement!
Q: So what can guests expect from this year’s Moët Party Day red carpet experience at The Four Seasons Hotel The Westcliff?
During the 24 hours of Moët Party Day, the Maison will deploy its savoir-fête to create unforgettable Moët Moments in 80 countries around the world. In Johannesburg we have a dazzling star-studded Moët & Chandon red carpet party taking place at the Four Seasons Hotel The Westcliff. I know our guests are going to show the rest of the world just how Mzansi stars celebrate in true glamorous Moët &Chandon style!
For Moët & Chandon fans that would like to experience Moët Party Day for themselves, in Johannesburg we have Moët Party Day experiences taking place at Harem, Taboo and Icon.
Q: Moët & Chandon is referred to as the world’s best-loved Champagne, do you think this is because of the Maison’s association with celebration?
I do, yes. At Moët & Chandon, we believe that each and every one of life’s moments is worth celebrating and that “living in the now” is to toast life and celebrate the thrill of living. And we believe that after 270 years of celebrating life’s memorable moments, there is no better way to honour one’s achievements and successes, than with a glass of Moët & Chandon champagne. With a bottle of our champagne opened every second around the globe, Moët & Chandon knows that every second is an experience, and every experience is a Moët moment to live and celebrate now!
Q: Finally, if we’re hosting a Moët Party Day experience at home, any top tips for pairing foods with champagne?
Champagne really is the perfect accompaniment to many meals. We usually recommend light, fresh fish for our Moët & Chandon Impérial and then brighter bolder ingredients for the Rosé, such as red meat. If you’re just relaxing in the sunshine by the pool, some raspberries and blueberries and a glass of Moet Ice Impérial is a perfect pairing!
We’re gifting one of our readers with a bottle of Moët & Chandon so they can enjoy the Moët Party Day celebration in the comfort of their own home. For a chance to be selected, answer the question below.
