Minor Hotels – which operates 146 hotels and resorts across Asia Pacific, the Middle East, the Indian Ocean and Africa – has announced its acquisition of full ownership of the iconic Royal Livingstone Hotel in Zambia.
Under this new ownership, the 173-room hotel will undergo rebranding in order to fit into the luxury Anantara portfolio.
“Minor Hotels’ full acquisition of Royal Livingstone Hotel and the property’s rebranding to join the luxury Anantara portfolio gives us an opportunity to increase growth for the property by maximising the strength of the award-winning Anantara brand and by bringing new thinking into running the business,” says Sir Richard Hawkins, Minor Hotels Regional Director for Southern Africa. “With this comes increased international exposure and smoother operations.”
Royal Livingstone Hotel by Anantara is set on the banks of the Zambezi River and overlooks the Victoria Falls. With it’s its UNESCO World Heritage location, the hotel is a favourite among both local and international travellers.
