February was quite a month for legendary adventurer Kingsley Holgate, who led a convoy of rather ancient Land Rovers over the Sani Pass, which connects KwaZulu-Natal to Lesotho. The group followed the tracks of one of the very first Land Rovers to ever take the treacherous journey some 65 years ago. Adding to the challenge of the rugged terrain was the fact that the vehicles are all around 60 years old. But nothing deters Holgate from pursuing life’s big adventures, especially expeditions that make a difference to the lives of others. The team stopped at a few remote villages in the Lesotho highlands en route and handed out glasses to villagers as part of the Rite 2 Sight project.
The adventures of the old Landies and Africa’s legendary Greybeard continue. Follow the journey here.
