Homecoming Revolution is heading to New York at the end of the month. The brain gain company is hosting its inaugural USA event on 25 September at the Thomson Reuters building in Times Square.
Speed Meet New York will provide Africans living in the USA with the opportunity to meet top employers back home.
“Thousands of skilled Africans living in the USA want to return home”, says Angel Jones, CEO of Homecoming Revolution. “Hundreds of businesses in Africa have vacancies and opportunities. By bridging the gap, Homecoming Revolution can play a major role in the Africa rising success story.”
She says that an estimated 300 000 key African professionals live (and work) outside the continent, and a large portion of these professionals now call the USA home.
The event will provide a platform for networking and will also provide practical advice should attendees be seriously considering the move back to the African continent.
“We are excited to perpetuate the brain gain message in America in the hopes of repatriating Africa’s skills,” says Jones.
African inspiration will be there in full force with a fantastic line-up of speakers including: South African rocket scientist Siyabulela Xuza (Founder and CEO of GEV Energy); Thebe Ikalafeng (Brand Leadership); Kyari Bukar (CSCS Plc); Mudunwazi Baloyi (Brand South Africa); Liz Ngonzi (Afrika Tikkun USA); Amadou Daffe (Coders4Afrika); Shaori Ajodha (Deloitte); and Sneha Shah (Thomson Reuters Africa).
Brand South Africa’s Acting Chief Marketing Officer, Sithembile Ntombela, says the event is one not to be missed: “Homecoming Revolution’s Speed Meet New York event will help bring like-minded South Africans and organisations together so that those who want to play their part and contribute to our country and continent’s growth and development are enabled to do so.”
