At only 24, James Asquith has travelled to all 196 countries in the world. He is now launching a travel app that will bridge the gap for travellers around the world looking to fill their passports with stamps.
According to the app’s website, “after visiting every county in the world, James aimed to make travel more accessible and cheaper for everyone”. The result was Holiday Swap, “a Tinder-style social media platform that lets travellers swap accommodation around the world”, as described by Business Insider.

Founded in 2017 by the British banker, who set a new Guinness World Record for being the youngest person to travel every country on the planet, the app lists homes in 102 countries across six continents, allowing users to swap homes for only $1 a night without any subscription fees.
Finding a home to swap is as easy as browsing through the cities, countries or entire continents through a global search engine, or creating contacts with potential home-swappers. For added peace of mind, the app facilitates a deposit system to mitigate the risk of damage to property.
Available for download for free from the App Store or PlayStore, the app was the Silver Winner at the annual Best New Mobile App Awards earlier this year.
