Hiking in the historic Melville Koppies

Think of Melville and not only does it’s residents, nightlife or creative culture spring to mind, but one can’t not mention the last conserved remnant of Johannesburg’s ridges which were left untouched during the gold rush of 1886. Dating back three billion years, this Johannesburg City Heritage Site has become a hiking oasis. Here’s a look at the trail ahead as you make your way through it’s indigenous vegetation as it was hundreds of years ago.
