With a focus on intra-Africa travel, tourism growth across the continent and the promotion of “Destination Africa” brand equity, Africa Tourism Partners will, together with the Africa Tourism Leadership Forum, launch the continent’s first-ever Africa Tourism Leadership Awards (ATLA).
According to Atla, the inaugural Africa Travel and Tourism Innovation Awards, “will also highlight and recognise game-changing initiatives being pursued across the sector. These will include progressive policy-making, thought leadership, innovation, sustainable investments and public-private community partnerships that are making waves across Africa’s tourism sector”.
Set to provisionally take place in Accra, Ghana, from 30 -31 August, 2018, the theme will be “Inspiring Intra-Africa Travel and Tourism Growth through Innovative Leadership.” The two-day programme will include a masterclass on Business Tourism, and culminate in an awards dinner on the evening of the 31st. “Some 30 world-renowned global industry experts, speakers, business leaders, ministers, policy makers, and over 300 delegates from over 30 countries” will be hosted.

The agenda will focus on topics such as ministerial and business leadership dialogue on intra-africa travel, thought and innovative leadership in tourism development, tourism and digitalisation and diversification of African economies through tourism, to name a few.
The event is aimed at equipping corporates and small enterprises with the knowledge and know-how to engage with their respective government bodies on travel, tourism and destination marketing issues.
