Hotels.com, an online booking service for hotels worldwide with localised offerings, has released a list of destinations where American travellers can enjoy luxury stays for much less than would be expected. These top destinations include Bangkok in Thailand, Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam and Istanbul in Turkey to name a few.
US travellers are said to be likely to find luxury 5-star hotel accommodation for less $150, which equates to approximately R1 932. 4-star hotel offerings extended the pool of affordable luxury hotel options to Beijing, Berlin, Las Vegas and Dubai to mention a few from the list of 30.
The capital of Iceland on the other hand, was found to offer the most expensive hotel accusation options, with rates averaging around $572.

While South Africa did not make it onto the list of the top 10, the country recorded a 2,8% increase in tourist numbers recorded in the month of January compared to the same period in the previous year, a positive continued growth following 2016’s 13% overall travel increase.
