Rome may have not been built in a day, but the pace at which Johannesburg’s business sector runs could lay foundations of empires within an hour-long meeting. Because of this, the Four Seasons Hotel The Westcliff now offers the ‘Hour of Power’ express business lunch which puts emphasis on time, fine food and superior service for the business clientele.
The concept allows business meetings to be conducted outside of the office in a picturesque setting overlooking Joburg’s jacaranda trees, with a four-course meal elegantly served on a single plate, followed by tea and coffee accompanied by mignardises. The food’s quality is uncompromised and the the kitchen is efficient.
On the menu, which changes each week, was a cold starter of roma tomato consomme with ricotta dumplings, tortellini and edamame with fresh basil and a hot starter of a crispy poached free range egg with pea mousseline, nasturtium and mange tout with toasted almonds and aged balsamic vinegar. The main was one of two options: a herb-crusted yellowfin tuna served on curry lentils and braaied leeks, or a crispy duck pastilla with dates and pistachios, topped off with a lemon tart with citrus creme fraiche, meringue fingers and marinated seasonal berries with mint for dessert.
“The mindset around having a business meeting offsite needs to change. Businesspeople don’t want to be interrupted, and they have concerns around potential traffic and receiving service of a high quality all in a traditional one-hour business meeting,” explained our host, Director of Sales and Marketing, David Barillot. Simply put, a quick Uber ride and the ‘Hour of Power’ may very well be the answer.
The hour-long express business lunch runs from Tuesday to Friday, 12:00 – 14:00 at just R395 per person. Learn more at www.viewrestaurant.co.za
