Airbnb offers something new for millennials

“Bleisure” travel, where business and leisure travel meet, takes centre stage in Airbnb’s new offering. The home-sharing online facilitator that allows users to lease or rent private homes now offers a new feature that caters to “millennial bleisure” travellers.

Airbnb has stated that more than half of its business trip bookings included a Saturday night in 2016, which implied that travellers had planned to explore the city in which they were in while on business. The company has therefore grown its number of business-friendly residences.

Business-smart residences include basic amenities for business travellers, from laptop-friendly workstations to wifi and self check-in options, and the online interface has been made more user-friendly.

A third-party booking tool, which makes it easy for both employers making the bookings and the employees travelling to make changes and even get in touch with the host, has also been launched.
