There are days when Johannesburg residents “show up” in all their glory and the annual 702 Walk the Talk event is one of those days. This is when about 50 000 people take to the Jozi streets – a motley group of individuals, old and young, putting their best feet forward – some in spandex and wigs, masks and angel wings, others waving South African flags – a group of happy shiny people out to celebrate all that is good about the city and each other. It was not only the humans who enjoyed the event – the dogs also put in a pretty good showing. Here are a few snapshots we wanted to share with Sawubona readers (see if you can spot Lead SA’s Yusuf Abramjee, National Police Commissioner Riah Phiyega, anti-apartheid activist Ahmed Kathrada and John Robbie (he’s the one in the helicopter). Enjoy and Happy Monday.
