South African Airways (SAA) recently announced their 2016 SAA Onboard Wine Listing Selection at a glamorous event held at Southern Sun The Cullinan, in Cape Town.
The event – which was MC’d by television personality, Lorna Maseko – was well-attended by SAA staff and foodies alike. Guests included celebrity chef Benny Masekwameng, Head of Marketing for SAA, Kim Thipe, and SAWUBONA editor, Ingrid Wood.
Traditionally, SAA selects 24 white and 24 red wines from submissions to be served on their flights and in Business Class lounges. The wines are scored by independent judges from both South Africa and abroad, and the results are then tallied by internal and external auditors. Facilitating this year’s judging and also in attendance was Miguel Chan, Tsogo Sun’s Group Sommelier.
